Houston, Texas - New Teaching Challenge

Gil has taken on a new teaching challenge by way of serving as an “Apprentice” in assisting Lead Instructor Kat Coronado in teaching the latest course NACE is offering, namely the Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) course. This course focuses on the requirements of NACE SP0198, Control of Corrosion under Thermal Insulation and Fireproofing Materials – A Systems Approach”. This is a widely considered topic as it is estimated that CUI accounts for 40-60% of all piping maintenance expenditures and 10% of total maintenance budget in industrial facilities. The course is interactive with numerous Knowledge Checks and Case Histories that students work on as a team. Thirteen (13) students from a wide variety of educational background and experience attended the course held December 16 – 19, 2019. Gil can’t say enough good things about the course content and looks forward to working with NACE in taking this course around the world.
